To activate your DSNAP EBT card, call the EBT customer service line at 1-888-997-1117, enter your 16-digit card number, and then listen for the option to select or reset your PIN.

Starting in summer 2024, Louisiana SUN Bucks, also referred to as Summer EBT, will provide families with $120 for each eligible school-aged child to buy groceries during the summer break.

After I apply, how and when will I find out if I'm approved? You will be notified by mail once an eligibility decision is made on your application. DCFS has 30 days to process your application. To access child custody records in Louisiana, the requester must contact the family court or the family division of the district courts of the parish. The requesting party will also be required to provide information regarding the case and pay any applicable fees to gain record access.

Consumers can use their EBT cards to shop and pay for qualified foods online. Delivery and other associated costs are not covered by SNAP benefits. Before providing online purchase services, all EBT retailers must be certified by the USDA FNS and fulfill federal online purchasing criteria.

SNAP benefits won't currently pay for alcoholic beverages, tobacco, or most hot food ready for consumption, like from a restaurant. The Food and Nutrition Act of 2008, however, allows the purchase of foods like candy, cake, potato chips, and soda.

You can check the status of your application through our online CAFÉ customer portal at www.dcfs.la.gov/cafe. After signing into your CAFÉ account, go to the “My Applications” page and click the status link next to the application.

How can I check the balance on my P-EBT card? If you have already activated your P-EBT card, call 1-888-997-1117 and follow the prompts to check your balance. You cannot check the balance on the card until it has been activated. Before activation, the card balance will appear to be $0.

Information about your Child Support case can be found in the Café Customer Portal. In Café, you can view payments received, get information on setting up a direct deposit account for receiving child support enforcement payments, and contact your caseworker through the Child Support Enforcement Message Center.
